About
What is The Print University?
The Print University (TPU) provides an introduction to the Graphic Arts and Production Printing industries through on-demand, video learning. TPU fills the missing gap for general industry knowledge once passed through internships and on-the-job training. It is perfect for new hires without industry experience or those with years of experience that need to learn new segments or topics. It is also an excellent resource for hardware and software vendors who hire business and technical team members without print industry experience.
TPU is offered to individual subscribers through the Vimeo On-Demand video platform based on a monthly subscription. Enterprise content licensing is based on annual subscriptions.
Why should you subscribe to The Print University?
Anyone who wants to learn more about the production printing industry from a team with over 6 decades of combined experience.
How do I know if TPU is right for my needs?
We have provided multiple ways to evaluate TPU. You can view the six abbreviated demos on our home page or two complete courses using the links in the “Demonstrations” area.
What is the difference between individual and enterprise subscriptions?
Individual subscriptions are limited to a single-instance and a single-login administered entirely through Vimeo’s Video On Demand platform. These subscriptions are self-serviced including sign-up, viewing, billing, and account management strictly through Vimeo. Vimeo is a video service similar to YouTube.
Enterprise subscriptions are for industry participants (OEMs, franchises, industry associations, software vendors, and similar organizations) that need to distribute the courses to a wider audience. Our annual content licensing subscription allows enterprises to embed all general audience TPU courses, excluding bespoke courses created for individual clients, into a Learning Management System (LMS), website, or similar content distribution platform. Additionally, we provide timestamped English language transcriptions that can be used to enhance search and discovery of content across the entire TPU library.
For those wanting to translate the courses into other lanages, a fully edited English language transcription is available for you to use with your preferred language translation partner.
How many courses are there?
There are 60+ courses and growing, with a combined viewing time over roughly 17 hours. The average course length is approximately 20 minutes, with the shortest at 5 minutes.
Will you be adding more courses?
Yes, the course content plan can be viewed in our Course Calendar section here. The plan is subject to time and content changes. See the Custom Development section below if your requirements are unique.
